The Vitamix machine is your "Can Do" kitchen tool - no peeling or seeding required!
"When I told my friends they were eating tomato/strawberry ice cream, they begged me for the recipe!"
It was pinkish in color. So naturally they thought it was strawberry ice cream.
Their first bite told them it wasn't. That was followed by a second bite. Despite
the puzzled looks on their faces, I could tell they liked it. They began to roll
their tongues against the tops of their mouths -- hoping their taste buds would
recognize the flavor.
A third bite. Then Alice said, "I like this flavor. What is it?"
Beth chimed in, "This tastes great, but I can't tell what flavor it is."
I could tell John's mental wheels were racing. He wanted his tongue to be the first
to reveal the mystery flavor. His first words, "I like the taste of this, but it has
an unusual flavor. And I'm not sure I've ever eaten anything quite like it."
By now, I was dying to see the expressions on their faces when I told them my secret.
Boastfully, I blurted out, "It's fresh tomato ice cream!" |
|
In unison and utter disbelief they said, "You've got to be kidding!"
I was quick to point out, "Why not ice cream made from tomatoes? Technically they are
a fruit, and I have never tasted ice cream made from a fruit that wasn't delicious!"
While waiting in line for a second helping, each guest insisted that I give them my
fresh tomato ice cream recipe. I told them the key to tomato ice cream was not
the recipe, but the fact that I owned the Vitamix Super 5200. I had no sooner
explained that it would not work in a conventional ice cream freezer when a fellow
tomato lover discovered why.
He asked the exact same question voiced by a luncheon guest months earlier. I had
just cooked a batch of Tomato-Onion-Cheese Soup in my Vitamix Super 5200. After
raving about how delicious it tasted, she asked, "If this is made from fresh tomatoes,
what happened to all the seeds and skins?"
My reply to the ice cream lover and the soup lover was the same, "You just ate
them!"
Eager to learn more, the soup lover said she was presently spending 12 hours a day
in her hot sweaty kitchen peeling tomatoes and then running them through a colander to
remove the seeds.
She lamented that she had 6 more bushels to go, and hoping she could eliminate the long
tedious hours associated with canning, said, "If your Vitamix
Super 5000 will remove the
seeds and skins from my tomatoes, I will buy one!"
I reminded her that it doesn't remove the seeds and skins. Instead the tremendous impact
of the revolutionary blade technology reduces them to a creamy smooth puree.
She bought a Vitamix Super 5200. That's the same reason why my tomato ice cream tasted
so smooth and delicious to my friends.
The Vitamix Super 5200 makes ice cream just as easily from frozen or canned tomatoes as
it does from fresh tomatoes. You can make any flavor of ice cream, fruit sorbet or frozen
yogurt you can think of. It also makes the best fresh salsa I have ever tasted as well as
refreshing, nutritious fruit and vegetable juices.
There are two things my Vitamix Super 5200 will not make. Work and a big mess! That
is the
part I appreciate most of all. It has no attachments and the container is self-cleaning!
I think W.H. from Inola, OK, sums it up nicely: "I wanted to tell you how thrilled I am
with my Vitamix. I now eat fruit skins and yogurt that I've never been able to eat
before.I've boxed up my meat grinder, blender, food processor, ice crusher, juice maker,
electric ice cream freezer and nut chopper for my next garage sale."
